Two narrowboats on a canal or river

More about narrowboats
Narrowboats were historically created to allow the transport of coal and other goods throughout the United Kingdom on a series of canals. The long, narrow design stems from the need to navigate through the locks and bridges of the canals, where the locks were kept narrow to limit the amount of water used.
The standard size of a boat on the canals is 6ft 10in wide, but they can be between 30 and 70 feet long. Today the most common use for narrow boat is for recreational and holiday use and the two boats pictured here certainly look to have been converted to holiday use.
