The vintage home movie shown in this post was taken at two locations in the UK; Land's End and Falmouth.
The date of this Kodachrome, Standard 8 film is almost certainly in the second half of the 1960s or possibly the start of the 1970s although that is an estimate on my part rather than guided by any hard evidence.
The film shows a couple's trip to Land's End in the first part and then what seems to be a day trip to the beach at Falmouth. It was taken by an amateur photographer who's films I have featured before on Vintage Home Movies and who has a particular and noted style of making his films - they feature his wife or companion in many of the shots as a central, stationary figure, with other action going on in the background. If you look at the film of Piccadilly Circus in London you will possibly see what I mean.
This film was taken in a similar manner, but I actually edited a bit of that style of scene making out in this film because to be frank it is a bit boring and somewhat intrusive for an outsider to watch. He had his reasons for making his films in this way and I'm not criticizing him for it, I'm just trying to show the historical and social history aspects which have been captured in the film.
The action shows the scenery around Land's End in Cornwall and the cliffs, sea and rocks in that area. There are also some canoeists shown in the water around the tip of Land's End, who were possibly part of a club or perhaps having a lesson. After some shots of the lady in the group, the film then switches to Falmouth Beach and bathers on what seemed like quite a misty and dull day - perhaps it only looks like that on film?
The end of the film shows the Lady in the water just off the beach when the weather seems to have become sunnier.
