Mercury engine next to Apollo engine – May 1977

I believe this Kodachrome slide shows a Project Mercury rocket engine (the white one) standing next to a Project Apollo engine. The Mercury rocket was used for the USA’s early maned space flights in earth orbit, whereas the Apollo rockets were used to take astronauts to the Moon, hence the more powerful design.
