Liverpool Town Hall in the late 1960s
This is a picture of Liverpool Town Hall that was taken in the late 1960s.
Liverpool Town Hall is located on High Street in Liverpool city centre and is one of the best examples of Georgian architecture in the UK. It was designed by John Wood the Elder and completed construction in 1754 although the building had some modifications towards the end of the 18th century following a fire. The building is Grade I listed.
As well as a council chamber (the building is still used for civic duties), there is a large ballroom in the building and the building homes many important paintings and statues.
