About the F.27-100

The F.27-100, which was also called the F.27-100 Friendship, was a twin engine turboprop airliner which was in active service during the 1960s and 1970s. The Aer Lingus company used them for internal Irish travel and for short international routes where the plane could carry between 44-50 passengers.

The plane was powered by two Rolls Royce Dart engines and was popular with Aer Lingus because it could operate from smaller airports because of its ability to land on short runways.
