Town high street in the early 1960s

This Kodachrome slide shows a town high street and the cars suggest to me that it was probably taken in the early 1960s. The sign above the pub suggests the pub was run by Tamplin and I tried to find a ‘Old Cross’ pub in the list of Tamplin inns, but couldn’t find one mentioned, so I don’t have a clue as to the location.
