A Kodachrome colour slide of a boy and girl, almost certainly brother and sister, with their dogs, sitting on a concrete ramp used to launch boats.
There were several things that struck me about this photo. For a start the boy is wearing tailored short trousers which you would probably never see today, but which I certainly remember wearing when I was a boy. The other thing that I noticed is the handle of a knife sticking out of the top of his socks. I suspect that it's the handle of a pen knife, which when this was taken in the early 1950s would have not raised any suspicion at all - boys have pen knives, so they can whittle sticks or cut branches etc when playing. Today however, that would be a real warning sign of trouble.
There is no date on this slide, but it's a red border Kodachrome so I would think it's the early 1950s
