A Sunny day on the Beach c1974
A typical family holiday scene from the mid 1970s minus most members of the family.
This is another picture which takes me right back to my childhood. We almost never went ‘away’ for holiday but would go for days out to the local coast in Norfolk where I grew up. Invariably we would take a wind break and set up camp and then my brother, sister and myself would run off to play somewhere whilst mum and dad relaxed on deckchairs.
The interesting things I see in this picture are the Popeye magazine one of the children has left laying on the sand, the packed lunch sitting by Mum’s chair and the two bottles of Corona, from a time when the work corona had a less terrifying meaning than today.
