Dubrovnik Street scene in the late 1950s

This is a picture of the city of Dubrovnik in Croation which was taken in the late 1950s on medium format colour slide film. It is a little bit dirty and has faded a bit but is still an interesting picture of the city.

I wonder if the women shown in the foreground were known to the photographer?
