A portrait of a woman standing by an iron gate in a fence above the river in Aberaeron, Wales. The clue to the location is the partially obscured sign next to her which has Aberayr.... on the top. This seems to be the Anglicised version of the Welsh town Aberaeron - when I use google street view to look at the modern village it certainly seems to be the same place.
Not sure of the date of this picture but over the woman's shoulder on the bank of the river I can see a Morris Minor parked which means it is probably in the 1970s or 1960s.
You certainly find some well composed photos! I have found this one, again, to be a very good study of a person in her home surroundings. These photographers were very good!
Hi Roy - I've taken the approach over the last few months to be a little more selective about the pictures I put up on the site and I've also started to try to find medium format slides rather than 35mm because they tend to be taken by more enthusiastic (and therefore better) amateur photographers.
I can confirm, it's definitely Aberaeron. There photo is taken on the south side of the harbour, opposite where The Hive is now.
