New York Harbour in the 1950s
This is a picture of the Manhattan skyline in New York Harbour which was probably taken in the 1950s. It is one of a whole series of pictures I acquired which were taken on 120 medium format Kodak colour slide film by a photographer who had obviously travelled extensively in the 1950s and 1960s.
It’s interesting to compare this skyline with the one in the modern google streetview. The building in the centre is still in place, and the tall building to the left also seems to be there, but it is now obscured by other buildings which have been built in the intervening years.
