Multiple cars at 1950s Motor race

This is another picture of a motor race taking place in probably the 1950s. It is a bit clearer than the picture I posted a couple of days ago and it’s now possible to see the other cars behind the leader with a bit more clarity, although the front car is a bit blurred from the speed.

Interesting, and a bit horrifying, to see the barrier in front of the crowd is simply a rope – there were several fatal accidents in motor racing in the 1950s and you can see why. If a car lost control and came towards the crowd nothing would stop it.
