A picture of a narrow street in Lucerne in Switzerland taken in about 1960.
This is a Kodachrome slide of a busy street in Lucerne in Switzerland which shows shoppers and lots of flags and decoration. Standing on the corner is a very well dressed man watching the people pass by and a bicycle is propped up against the pavement in the extreme foreground.
I couldn't find the exact location of this picture; I searched for the shop 'Vogele' and found that there is still a shop in Lucerne called 'Charles Vogele' and so I've placed the location in the correct position for that shop, but the street topography looks different. It's possible that the shop has moved, or that the street has had alterations, or that I've just not found the right spot - any correction welcome in the comments below.
