View from the William Tell Statue in Switzerland c1961
This shows the view from the base of the William Tell statue in the town of Altdorf in Switzerland in about 1961. In this view the actual statue of William Tell is behind the photographer and he/she is looking at the fountain which is in the square in front of the statue.
If you use the ‘View Photo Data’ button below and chose the street view from google maps, you can see how the view has changed today. One change is that in 1961 there was a road which passed around the base of the statue and today it is entirely pedestrianised.
This photo was taken on Kodachrome film.
