Group in Trafalgar Square, London

This seems to be a picture of a group standing next to one of the fountains in Trafalgar Square in London.

The clothes the group are wearing suggests that this picture was possibly taken in the mid-1950s when colourful skirts and dresses were more popular. It seems to be a bright and sunny day although the girl with her back to us is carrying a coat, so possibly this is spring time.

The background is quite fuzzy, which makes it difficult to make out any details of other people of buildings etc, although I can see a red double decker bus in the distance between the fountain and the man.
