Christmas in the late 1950s

A family group taken in the living room of their house at Christmas sometime in the late 1950s. Unfortunately, the slide is covered with dirt that has embedded into the emulsion, so it now can’t be removed.

I find this photo interesting because it reminds me of my own childhood memories of Christmas with the streamers and decorations. One difference however is we always had a real Christmas tree, whereas this one looks to be fake.
