An 8mm home movie showing two people walking to the sea and one of them going surfing which, from the look of the grey water and cloudy skies, I assume is probably during a chilly day in the UK.
Although this is a super 8 film, the definition is not actually very good and it took me several views to realise that the person going in the water and surfing is a man - the hair style and general look of the person seemed female, but at the end of the film, when the person walks up to the camera to pack things in the car it is quite obvious that it is a man.
No amount of detective work would allow me to find the precise location that the action is taking place in because there are no real landmarks to use to base any searches on. I have assumed that it is in the UK by the images of the cars towards the end of the film, and I would suspect that it's probably Cornwall, simply because that the centre of surfing in the UK, but I could be wrong. The cars, by the way, are the reason I've categorized the film as 1970s - the models which appear are quite clearly the boxey shapes of classic 1970 design.
Surfing film
Regarding the film, there isn't much to say about the actual action. Two chaps walk along the beach, one carrying a surfboard, and then the action switches to the guy with the board surfing in the shallow water by the edge of the sea.
There are lots of repeated shots of the chap in the sea and then the final images are of him walking along a grassy bank towards his friend who is holding the camera standing with their yellow car.
