This is the second part of a vintage home movie taken by a family during a holiday in Germany and Holland in the early 1960s.
Just to recap for anyone who hasn't seen part one of this film, it was shot on Kodachrome, standard 8 film in 1961 and the first part I identified during my detective work was taken in the city of Dusseldorf in Germany.
I have found the locations shown in this, the second part, to be harder to locate than in the first, although there are clues for anyone familiar with the two countries concerned. I'm hoping that an eagle eyed viewer will be able to supply some information here to help. I'm assuming that at least some of this film was taken in Holland, but it's also possible that the scenes in Holland were in the earlier sequences in the first film.
The film picks up from the first part with the family on a shopping trip to a large town or city. There are certainly lots of VW cars around and I'm fairly sure this is still in Germany. Also the writing shown on an advertising poster seems to be in German.
There are then some scenes of a large expanse of water at a river or canal with a large suspension bridge over it. In the section where two women are walking up a path with the young boy, the houses behind them seem to me to have what I would term a Dutch look so I believe by this point the family are now travelling through Holland. This is followed a bit later by a very distinctive arched bridge which again I've been unable to locate with any image searches.
The final scenes show the family enjoying a visit to a fair ground where they seem to be having a great time. In a more sombre mood, the film closes with scenes of a war grave which, from the pictures of the towers I think may be at Holten.
