Brighton by rail and London

This vintage home movie was taken by a couple in 1965 and features them taking a rail trip to Brighton and then a visit to london.

The film follows on from an earlier film on Vintage Home Movies which I posted few days ago and show the same couple who went to Windsor in that post.

This home movie like the other one, was shot on Ilford Standard 8 film but in this case the cameraman must have had at least two reels of film with them because the duration is over 7 minutes - remember each reel of standard 8 film lasts about 3 1/2 minutes.

I had to do very little investigation to find where the first destination in the movie was since the film shows the name board for Brighton as the train approaches the station, and then shows some images of the white cliffs which I confirmed were Brighton with a google image search. Following on from the couple's arrival in Brighton, there are some some scenes taken around the town and on a rocky beach shown and then the action suddenly changes and cuts to a sequence taken of at trip to London starting with a River cruise.

During the river cruise the Houses of Parliament come into view along with Big Ben followed by some fountains which I believe may have been taken in Regents Park.

The final few minutes are taken up with a trip to a fun fair which I have assumed was also in London, although it's possible this was during another visit.
