Pictures of Eilean Donan Castle from 2002

The Eilean Donan Castle is situated on the West coast of Scotland, near the Isle of Skye and is a common subject for photographers because of it’s eerie and mystical look. I found this set of pictures of it when I was sorting through a collection of colour slides from a member of the Geography Field Studies council, and thought they were worthy of a collection post on Found Film, rather than being added into the image database.
The Eilean Donan Castle is set in a beautiful part of Scotland and as well as being a very photogenic subject, has also been used as the location of many films throughout the last 60 years. It was built in the 13th century, but was restored in the 1920s and is currently used as a location for weddings, holidays and social events.
As I said above I found these pictures in a set of slides I bought from eBay which had be taken by an obviously competent photographer in the early 2000’s. They are not particularly old therefore, but are nicely taken and show some good images of the castle. Along with this set of Scotland, I also bought some older sets of slides of the lake district and the Czech republic which I will be sorting through over the next couple of weeks and if the quality of those slides are anything like these ones it will probably lead to more posts.
The Eilean Donan Castle Slides
So these are the slides. They were all taken on Fujichrome film and are dated 6th September 2002. I scanned them on an Epson V550 perfection scanner as TIFF files and used Lightroom to create the Jpegs with only minimal adjustments for exposure.
