LMS Princess Royal Class 6201 “Princess Elizabeth”

An agfacolour slide of the LMS Steam Engine “Princess Elizabeth” which was probably taken in the early 1970s. When the photo was taken, she was running a special tour or excursion because she has the name plate with, ‘Cathedral’s Express’ on.
The name “Cathedrals Express” was originally used by British Railways in the 1950s for scheduled express passenger services linking London with major cathedral cities, particularly in southern and western England, so it’s possible this photo was taken at an event celebrating that service.
