DFDS Seaways Dana Regina – October 1976

This Kodachrome slide shows a DFDS Seaways passenger ferry docked at a port, probably Harwich. The ship’s name, Dana Regina is visible on the bow and superstructure near the bridge.
DFDS Seaways is a Danish shipping company that has operated passenger and freight services around northern Europe for over a century.
Details about the ship:
Built in 1974 by Aalborg Værft in Denmark for DFDS so when this photo was taken the ship was only a couple of years old.
It operated mainly on routes such as Harwich to Esbjerg in Denmark.
It could carry both passengers and vehicles and is a classic example of the car/passenger ferries that served North Sea routes in the 1970s–1980s.
It was later renamed and sold to other operators (including under the names Nordic Ferry and Suffolk Ferry).
