Cars parked in a village street – May 1967
A Kodachrome slide, taken in May 1967, of a village street with cars parked. The street is cobbled with what appears to be residential properties, and there is a sign for a pub called the Hope & Anchor near the closest car. I had a look on Google, and there are many Hope & Anchor pubs, but the cobbled street allowed me to identify it as the Hope & Anchor, Rye.
The modern building has changed a lot since the photo was taken, and the cobbled street has been replaced with a modern surface, but the general shape of the buildings shows it to be the same place.
The cars are probably easier to identify by car lovers; I can see a Triumph Herald and a Hillman, I believe.
