Vintage car on London to Brighton rally

This picture has been taken whilst the photographer was walking along a road and spotted a vintage car travelling along the highway. There are actually three other pictures in this series, which I'll add over the next day or so, which feature different vintage cars, so I wonder if this was taken on the route of the London to Brighton Vintage car rally?

The look of the other car in the picture suggests this was probably taken in the late 1950s.
