Fishing boats and landing stage

A picture of boats tied up on a landing stage next to the sea with a village in the distance and a walkway leading into the village. Just to the left of the picture is a notice which says, ‘Allowed Lake’ so I believe there is a boating lake off to the left of the picture. None of the boats have any discernible markings, so I’m not sure where exactly this picture was taken – does anyone recognise it?

Update: A comment from Amalthea below tells me this is Malden in Essex.
