Blasting through a mountain to build a road in Spain – 1955

This picture was taken in Spain in 1955 and shows workmen clearing the road after a mountain had been blasted away to give access. The slide has written on it the location but it’s difficult to read – I think it says  ‘Puerto Echegarate’, and since a google search of this shows various pictures of a road I suspect this shows the construction of this road.
