Family watching tv in the 1950s

A picture of a family group gathered round the TV which was probably taken in the late 1950s or possibly early 1960s. It’s a bit unfortunate that the photographer slightly missed the focus point, and the main subject area is slightly blurry, although it’s possible to see that the clock on the top of the TV is indicating 6-30 in the evening.

I remember very similar family TV nights myself, and in fact the fireplace reminds me of the one which was fitted in both my parent’s house and my nanny’s house.
