Portrait of a young woman by a travel agency
A Kodachrome slide from August 1963 showing a young lady standing outside the window of a travel agency in America. This seems to be a posed photo, so I suspect she knew the person taking the photograph – it isn’t a candid street photograph of a stranger. She seems to be wearing a wedding ring, so the most likely scenario is that this is a picture taken by a husband of his wife.
At first I wasn’t sure what the shop in the background was, but the signs in the window with ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents) and VARIG (a Brazillian airline) clarified both the shop and the likely broad location.
It would be difficult to deduce a precise location from this picture, but the clothes and hairstyle place the date somewhere in the 1960s.
