Barbecue with friends 1960 style

This Kodachrome slide shows either a group of friends, or more likely a family, enjoying a barbecue in Aug 1960. The barbecue is of metal construction and I think there is a copper pipe at the right hand end of the unit which suggests it is run by gas rather than coke or coal. I’m pretty sure this is an American scene because I don’t think many people in the UK would be using a barbecue in 1960, but the exact location is unknown.

As with most Kodachrome slides, the technical quality of the picture is superb considering this event took place over 55 years ago.
