American bus conversion motorhome mid 1970s

This is a colour slide of a classic American bus conversion motor home and quite a stylish one at that. The front end of the bus gives a lot of clues; this started life as a 1950s/1960s intercity coach, very likely a General Motors โSilversidesโ or early PD-series, which were long distance buses before being converted into private motor homes.
In the 1970s these old coaches were hugely popular for conversion into high-end mobile living accommodation. They had a very solid construction with Detroit Diesel engines, all-metal body and could run forever if well maintained.
