Mockup of the Apollo command module – November 1966

A photo taken during a trip to the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida in November 1966. The interesting thing about this photo is that it was processed in November 1966, so it was taken some time before that date. In late 1966 the first Apollo mission had not yet launched, so this mockup was the engineer’s best assessment of the craft they would need in the next few years to achieve their goal of placing a man on the moon before 1970.
