Lockheed Constellation

This is a photo of a Lockheed Constellation aircraft that was probably taken in the mid 1970s. The distinguishing features of the Constellation shown in this photo are:
The distinctive triple-tail configuration
The long, graceful fuselage with oval windows
The โMilitary Air Transport Serviceโ MATS insignia on the fuselage
The tail marking โMATS 8609โ, which suggests US Air Force serial no 48-609
The photo was probably taken during an airshow or open day at a museum – in fact the word, ‘Museum’ can be seen on the yellow steps leading to the open door at the back of the aircraft.
