A Photo of a Lockheed C-121 Constellation aeroplane that was probably taken at an airshow in the mid 1970s (The yellow staircase with the word, “MUSEUM” suggest this).

A few facts about the Lockheed C-121

  • The aircraftโ€™s long fuselage and triple-fin tail are characteristic of the Constellation family, designed by Lockheed and used both commercially and militarily from the 1940s through the 1960s.

  • The yellow and black MATS insignia and โ€œMILITARY AIR TRANSPORT SERVICEโ€ titles along the fuselage indicate it was restored or painted in the colours typical of that era.

  • The tail number visible, 8609, suggests this particular aircraft could be a C-121A or C-121C Super Constellation variant.
