This engine is almost certainly one of the small industrial locos displayed at the Stratford railway depot, later renamed to the Stratford Railway Lands Railway Museum. In the 1970sโ€“1980s Stratford often exhibited small industrial saddle-tanks rescued from scrap.

The number 229 is consistent with Peckett & Sons builderโ€™s works numbers.

Peckett industrial locos often had numbers in this range and used oval plates, although a few other manufacturers (e.g. Hudswell Clarke, Andrew Barclay) used similar styles. The high, boxy cab shape and short wheelbase also fit the profile of a Peckett 0-4-0ST.
