Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX serial No MH434

This is a photo of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX serial no MH434 which was taken at an airshow or similar event in October 1974, probably at Duxford. A few facts about this aircraft:

• MH434 was built in 1943 and saw service in WWII

• After the war it passed through several air forces including the Dutch and Belgian

• It returned to the UK in the late 1960s where it was restored to flying condition

• By the time of this photo in the 1970s, it was becoming a regular sight at British air displays
