Capsule from the London Eye – August 2000

This is a photo of one of the capsules of the London Eye, taken from the next capsule along the arc of the wheel. The slide dates from August 2000, and the faint “British Airways” logo visible on the glass confirms that date. From its opening in 2000 until 2006, the Eye was officially branded the British Airways London Eye.

Passengers in the capsule can be seen standing and moving around freely. This is a hallmark of the London Eye which is designed more like a moving observation room than a ride.
