This Agfacolour slide shows the Atomium in Brussels, Belgium, a famous landmark originally built for the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair (Expo 58).

The Atomium represents an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times. It consists of nine stainless steel spheres connected by tubes containing escalators and stairs. It was designed by an engineer called André Waterkeyn and architects André and Jean Polak. It was meant as a temporary structure but became permanent due to its popularity.
