Mowing the lawn

This could be a scene from almost any well-to-do family garden from the 1960s. Sunday morning and the man of the house is out mowing the lawn. What strikes me about this is that the man is using a push mower, whereas today it would almost certainly be an electric mower, and that he is wearing a tie, something that almost no one would do today.

The Kodachrome II film this was shot on dates the scene to sometime after 1961 when the film was introduced.
